The PM Control Checklist

Keep Control of the Project Before the Project Controls You

A Project Manager cannot manage the job by reacting only to what demands attention today. Staying in control means knowing where the project stands, what is coming next, and what could create cost, schedule, or contractual exposure.

The PM Control Checklist helps Project Managers routinely review the areas that require their attention, including:

  • Budget, commitments, and cost exposure
  • Change orders and unresolved scope
  • Submittals, RFIs, and procurement
  • Schedule risks and upcoming milestones
  • Owner and subcontractor coordination
  • Documentation, billing, and closeout requirements

Use this checklist to identify open items, assign responsibility, and follow through before small issues become expensive problems.

You do not control a project by knowing everything. You control it by knowing what needs action, who owns it, and when it must be resolved.
